For me, the game is the only facet of the Pokemon phenomena that excites me. I believe they have a half-baked story full of interesting but extremely small Pokemon that doesn't make much sense or goes anywhere.
Pokemon is a phenomenon and kids are going insane over it. What's it about a computer game that has taken off this enormous? It even has celestial epochs: we are now in the Era of the Pokemon Black and White. But most of the kids buying these goods are not even actually playing the video game itself! That seems to be another phenomenon altogether (for Nintendo, number two behind Super Mario).
Now, my son also is not a big fan of the story; I am unsure what it's about Pokemon that fascinates him so much (I can't help but think that children are infusing their imagination into the storyline and are perhaps secret 'trainers,' a modern equivalent to the dragon slayer). Regardless, he loves the Pokemon plush toys (plushies or Pokemon stuffed toys) though I am not sure why. Maybe to get a Pokemon stuffed toy would be to kind of capture one with a Pokeball. In any case, I'm neither a stingy or indulgent parent, which usually means that though he may desire a plushie, he won't get one and ends up settling for cards.
Additionally, the traffic to APKMirror has come from all around the globe, with the US only accounting for 10.8% of the website's background traffic over the last 28 days. After the US, users in Brazil are leading the charge to download Pokemon GO via an app and are responsible for 8.2% of APKMirror's traffic over the same interval.
He loves the card game though and will get me to buy him the Pokemon Black and White cards whenever he can. These haven't arrived in used shops in amounts, but he can still get his hands on (and spend his allowance) Legendary Pokemon cards, promo Pokemon cards, and holofoil cards. He and his pals can spend an extreme hour or two on card gaming, though they don't seem so interested in the console game (that is more up my alley).
Fortunately, they were letting customers play the hottest game incarnation, Pokemon Black and White, that day and I waited in line for 10 minutes to play it myself, which I did for 15 minutes before the man in charge made breaths that I should probably let folks smaller than myself have an opportunity.
Regardless, Pokemon is cool and times and tastes have changed. It seems we live in an age in which morals, good, evil, and heroism are considerably more blurred than we 'simpler' kids were. Maybe kids are more complex these days. I do know that as a science fiction buff I do think Pokemon has potential, though by capitalizing on they'd likely alienate their audience.
When I was the kid, Japan was obviously not selling video games, but they were writing and creating animation as well as drama. And what little of it got to America I as a little girl even loved. First, there was Ultraman. The monsters were grotesque, Ultraman himself was a hero but ugly too, and it was pure good vs. evil. Monsters came from outer space and Ultraman protected humanity from them. I recall one cute creature that was the size of the small person and was covered with long strands of bizarre hair (difficult to describe). But even that creature, though likable, was pretty nasty. My generation is pretty much figured that monsters should be horrible. Pokemon appears like they lack monster hormones or something. Only to mention it, there was additionally Speed Racer (amazing story- who can forget Spridal and Chim Chim- and who was Racer X really?). The Mach 5 was way cool. What little girl would not enjoy that? Ashes can not hold a candlewick to Speed!
As a Mother, I am not overly worried about leaving him alone at the Pokemon Center to window shop for himself. This being Japan. However, I 'm worried about him getting lost in the tremendous crowds. I do admit that after 20 minutes I was pretty much going out of my mind, and said to him point blank, "OK, Jojo, time for us to get a move on," but his appearance of misery made it clear that physical prodding and succeeding brooding would be what I would have needed to endure to get him out of there.
It is thought that women love to shop, and men don't but that equation doesn't contain children and hobbyists. Getting my son out of the Pokemon Center, and hoping that he'll forget that there is a Pokemon Center, are hopeless prospects. Pokemon is certainly a success.
Outside of the US, users all over the world have been attempting to download Pokemon GO using an app, circumventing the official app store.
This traffic to APKMirror came largely via Organic Search Traffic and over the 28 day period from June 10th to July 7th, 19.6% of desktop search traffic came from the search term "Pokemon go ask".
For my middle aged generation, the attractiveness of Pokemon is a little challenging for me to get a grab on. If Pikachu is cute, then why is he capable of such destructive power? And if he is so lethal, then why is he so cute? But I must retract all that really, for I can not find Pokemon in their animated incarnation to be either cute or trendy. Perhaps for my generation, Pokemon just do not have an allure to us. We can't figure out what they stand for.
So why are these monsters so rare? Most of this list checks out; in specific locations, each mythical bird, and Mewtwo are just located in the Pokémon games, while Mew is historically among the most challenging monsters to find and capture. As for Ditto, nonetheless, although the Standard-type isn't classified as a mythical, it can be tough to locate in many of the traditional games. That is due in part to its unique breeding abilities; the Pokémon can mimic and breed with virtually any other to reproduce Pokémon. As for where to find them, it is still not possible to say. Pokémon GO PokéStop in Bayview Heights QLD 4868 requires players to travel around the world to locate all of secrets and its hidden monsters, and with the game still not out in Japan, among other places, fans may have to continue trying to find quite a long time before finding any of these rarities. Ripley's Believe It Or Not is hosting a contest for players' trendiest finds, so Pokémon out of could be tempted by maybe the allure of $5,000 could tempt concealment.
